Mena Alexandra suvari, born on February 13, 1979 in the USA is an actress, fashion designer and a model. Shortly after beginning her career as a model, she moved into acting, after appearing as a guest on 90's television shows such as Boy Meets World and High Incident. She had her first film role in the 1997 drama Nowhere. The actress made her way to important roles thanks to her performance as a character in American Beauty for which she was nominated for a BAFTA Award and American Pie each of which garnered her wider attention. After that, she was in Loser (2000) along with the American Pie co-star Jason Biggs and then played the principal character in the comedy Sugar & Spice (2001). Her appearances were in the 2002 independent drama Spun and in the 2004 thriller film Trauma. The year 2004, she was a guest in HBO's series Six Feet Under. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in for 2005 in the category of Outstanding Ensemble. In 2008 she was cast in several films such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the adaptation film to The Garden of Eden. Suvari is the actress for Lancome cosmetics as well as print ads in the brand's Lancome Paris Adaptive and has been featured on numerous magazines and fashion blogs including Vogue. She has been a supporter and a defender of The African Medical and Research Foundation, a prestigious organisation that helps provide assistance to the African continent. In addition, she's involved in charitable organizations that fight breast cancer, as well as End Violence Against Women.
